The publication is a continuation of the genealogical studies of O. Lazarevsky, V. Modzalevsky, G. Miloradovich. It contains 119 documents that were collected in the 18th century by Ukrainian officials by order of the Russian authorities. This collection introduces us to social and ethnic origin, family and property status, level of education, career of the gentry, reveals the mechanism of the policy of the Russian Empire on the entry of the Ukrainian gentry into the Russian nobility and the attitude of the gentry itself to this policy. The publication was prepared based on materials from the Chernihiv Historical Museum. V.V. Tarnovsky and is designed for historians, genealogists, history students, as well as all connoisseurs of Russian history.
