The famous poem Ludovico Ariosto (1474-1533), created in 1516-1532, is unusual in form. It begins almost with a half-word, picking up the plot of M. Boyardo's now forgotten poem "Roland in Love" (1495). To Boyardo's sixty-nine songs, Ariosto added forty-six more of his own. The poem is distinguished by a countless number of heroes, a whimsical interweaving of storylines, which creates a picture of an endless fantastic world constantly revealing before the reader's gaze.
