This publication is based on the tragedy of M.P. Pogodin "Martha, Novgorod Posadnitsa," published in 1831 and not reprinted during the life of the author. In the Supplements, lyrical, prose and dramatic works devoted to the theme of Martha Posadnitsa in Russian literature for a century and a half are printed in full or in excerpts. The appendices contain a research article by L.G. Friezman on the history of the creation of the tragedy.
