The collection includes the best lyric works of A. Grigoriev (among them such pearls of Russian poetry as "Oh, speak at least you with me, a seven-string friend" and "Gypsy Hungarian") and his poems. The book also includes translations from Heine, Byron, Goethe, Schiller, Beranger. Grigoriev did not create. But in his artistic heritage there are about a dozen wonderful poems, original in their poetic thought, sharply individual in the ways of construction and emotional coloring. If you fell in love with them, emotionally "infected" (using the expression of L. Tolstoy) with them in your youth, you will never forget them. There are not so many such "supporting lyricists" as Grigoriev in the history of Russian poetry.
