We are aaori, "unborn." That's what the locals call us. Our souls were caught by sages and encased in the bodies of men. We were given knowledge of the language, but forbidden to remember. We were called upon to protect the world from altered creatures, but our lives are worthless. We will serve until we die in this world or deserve atonement for sins. But what are these sins, and were they? How long will it take to wait for redemption? And who was each of us before we got into this world? The cycle is over.
