The Russian North has long attracted the attention of scientists. Without a detailed study of the history of the settlement of these areas by immigrants from the Novgorod and Rostov-Suzdal lands, it is impossible to understand many processes that played an important role in the socio-economic history of our country. Not affected by the Tatar-Mongol invasion in the XIII-XV centuries, the North Russian regions were formed as a natural repository of folk everyday traditions and folk art culture. They became famous for wonderful examples of folk architecture, embroidery, carving, partly painting. World-famous Russian epic songs (epics) were discovered here, a large number of old folk songs, lamentations and fairy tales were recorded, which are distinguished by their unique originality and high artistic merits.
