The Great Proletariat, by its own name the International Social Revolutionary Party "Proletariat," is a Polish socialist revolutionary party operating on the territory of the Russian Empire at the end of the 19th century. It was founded in 1882 by uniting a number of Warsaw socialist circles under the leadership of Ludwig Warynsky. At the congress in Vilna (1883), other Polish socialist circles of Warsaw, Vilna, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kyiv, Odessa joined the Proletariat and the Central Committee was elected consisting of Varynsky, Kunitsky, Rekhnevsky, etc. In March 1884, the Great Proletariat entered into an alliance with the "People's Will," recognizing economic and political terror as the highest form of struggle against the autocracy.
