The next volume of the series includes foreign and Russian works describing the dramatic events of the Time of Troubles in Russia at the beginning of the 17th century. The notes of the German mercenary Konrad Bussov, the Greek archbishop Arseny of Elasson, the Dutch poet Elias Gerkman represent the view of foreigners on the Troubles. The perception of these events by Russian people of that era is reflected in the outstanding monuments of the annals and historical narrative: "The New Chronicler" and "The Tale of the Zemsky Sobor in 1613."
