The book is dedicated to one of the most mysterious figures of antiquity - the Greek sage of the 5th century. Before R.H. Empedocles - philosopher, magician, doctor and preacher. The legends that have come down to us, as well as fragments from the poems of the philosopher "On Nature" and "Purification" formed the basis of both works included in this book: the works of one of the prominent representatives of the Kyiv scientific circles of the beginning of the century Heinrich Yakubanis "Empedocles: Philosopher, Doctor and Sorcerer" and the tragedies of the great German romantic poet Friedrich Hölderlin "Death of Empedocles." Attached is the Greek text of the fragments of Empedocles. The published texts will be of interest, no doubt, not only to specialists in antiquities, but also to all admirers of classical antiquity.
