Articles by N. Ya. Berkovsky on Soviet literature, which the reader gets acquainted with today, relatively little is known. Most of them have not been reprinted since 1930. Meanwhile, having begun his journey in the 1920s, Berkovsky, with his inherent professional and human passion, joined the debate about the ways of development of Soviet literature. He retained this trait of high interest in literary affairs throughout his life. The most significant phenomena of Soviet literature came into his field of vision: the formation of the genre of the novel, the socio-historical, psychological, epic line of development of prose.
