For the first time in Russian, the main works of a major theologian, a representative of early scholasticism Anselm of Canterbury (1033-1109), who was called the "second Augustine" during his lifetime, are published. In these works, the author develops the ideas of the nature of God, his being, the relationship of faith and reason, etc. The appendix is the first to publish a translation of one of the most famous works of the theologian Peter Damiani (1007-1072), which summarizes the main principles of "Latin" Christianity.
