General questions of the theory of waves of various physical nature (electromagnetic, sound, etc.) are presented. Laws of wave propagation in linear and nonlinear media are considered. Much attention is paid to the presentation of various mathematical methods for analyzing wave equations. The book includes a number of issues of modern wave theory, presented so far only in the special scientific literature.
