The new monograph of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Igor Olegovich Knyazky is dedicated to the life and work of one of the most famous Roman emperors - Mark Ulpius Trajan. The first provincial at the head of the Empire, like no other of the rulers of Rome, earned the nickname Optimus Princeps (Best Princeps). During his reign, Trajan managed the seemingly impossible, if you recall the experience of his predecessors: to combine the concepts of Principate and Freedom. He became the last Roman emperor to decide on large conquest campaigns.
