The proposed collection includes materials from the Russian periodical press about Abkhazia and Abkhazians since the entry of Abkhazia into the Russian Empire (1810) until the end of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878. Within the framework of the designated period, the historical, political, demographic and ethnocultural processes that took place in Abkhazia are clearly traced, including such fateful for the indigenous population as the abolition of statehood, deportation, colonization.
