In September 1985, young Jon Lindqvist, a future writer, arrives in Stockholm. He wants to become a magician and rents an apartment in a dilapidated building next to the Brunkeberg Tunnel. Pretty soon, he realizes that something strange is happening with his new house: someone is constantly calling him and asking the same person, it is impossible to listen to music in the apartment, since sometimes ominous sounds are heard from the tape recorder, birds fall from the sky, neighbors behave suspiciously, and it is unpleasant to walk in the tunnel, as if something alive is watching passers-by from the walls. And soon Jon, unwittingly, will face a different world, a world of endless green plain and sky without the sun, from where real monsters come.
