The Polish author of this chronicle has not been established; it is known that he was a supporter of Prince Vishnevetsky. The Khmelnitsky uprising ended with the separation of part of the Ukrainian lands from the Commonwealth and their annexation to the Russian Empire. The brochure was published for the bicentennial of the events described.
