The book is an attempt to study the inner world of the Russian man of the late Middle Ages in his everyday life. Particular attention is paid to the consideration of the value system and the conditions for its formation. Nature, dwelling, food, clothing and the subject world as a whole are described only to the extent that they reflected the character of a person and influenced his change, not so much at turning points in history, but in routine life and small, familiar circumstances. The main focus is on the perception of such phenomena as time, fate, death and the afterlife, as well as relations between people both in the family, including intimate ones, and in the wider society. The main sources were Domostroy, Collections of church and civil law, Teachings of church hierarchs, stories and stories of people of that time. Of course, the question remains how much the norms and representations formulated in them were perceived by the audience as their own. The listed texts do not give an unambiguous and exhaustive answer, but the author tried to outline the general contours of the worldview and worldview of the Russian person of the late Middle Ages.
