N.S. Khrushchev's reform path was thorny, difficult, and very contradictory. The "socialist system of agriculture," which developed during the years of Stalinist collectivization, in the early 50s was crushed and half-strangled by a rotten totalitarian regime. She almost did not succumb to reform. Attempts by Khrushchev and some other "truth seekers" from the Stalinist leadership in the pre-reform period to somewhat soften this regime in the interests of the peasants (reduce the tax burden, abandon the "first commandment" of the grain grower, at least only in favor of creating a seed fund, introduce elements of self-accounting into the collective farm and state farm system) met with complete misunderstanding and active opposition from the leader. After his death, Khrushchev, who came to power, sought to create conditions for the revival of the country on the basis of its liberation, primarily the village, the long-suffering peasantry, from the puts of totalitarianism, the cult of personality and its consequences.
