The proposed manual covers all the methodological techniques necessary for students when compiling a collection of insects during a summer practice in invertebrate zoology. Methods of preparation of large and small insects, their expansion, pricking on entomological pins are analyzed in detail. Separately, a description of the methods of working with butterflies and dragonflies, the most difficult to straighten, is highlighted. Advice is given on pricking on the minute and sticking very small insects. Recommendations for preparing insects for storage, mounting and design of collections are given. Intended for students of biological specialties.
