Ukrainian writer Slobodyanyuk Boris Iosifovich was born in 1917 in the village of Voznovtsy, Zhmerensky district, Vinnitsa region, in the family of a poor peasant. The first book of the writer - a collection of short stories "To New Heights" - was published in 1948 in the Ukrainian republican publishing house "Soviet Writer." After a creative trip to Soviet Uzbekistan, Slobodyanyuk wrote the story "Sunny Valley" about the friendship of the Ukrainian and Uzbek peoples. Following this, books were published: "Unforgettable," "State Farm Professor," "Through the Storm. "Slobodyanyuk B. I. participated in the Great Patriotic War, he is a member of the CPSU and a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR. In connection with the 50th anniversary of the newspaper "Pravda" for his long and selfless work in the Soviet press, Boris Iosifovich was awarded the medal "For Labor valor." In "Eagle Heart" the author tries to illuminate the life of Peter the Cat, the hero of the defense of Sevastopol (1854-1855). The main material for the stories was the memories of fellow villagers of the famous sailor.
