The tutorial discusses the theory and history of real numbers. The names of numerals in various languages ​ ​ are analyzed in detail, a scheme for analyzing systems of names of numerals is proposed, more preferable than existing ones. Examples of number notation systems are given, from the oldest to positional with various bases.
