In 1923, the newspaper was founded as an organ of the Moscow City Council. The first issue of "Evening Moscow" was published on December 6, 1923. The volume of publication was half the format of the newspaper Pravda. Boris Volin became the first editor-in-chief of Vechernyaya Moskvy, and Mikhail Koltsov became the deputy. The first issues of the newspaper had no editorials and resembled an informational bulletin: scattered reports about the life of the capital prevailed, descriptions of incidents, judicial chronicles, prices on the Moscow market, the golden ruble exchange rate, stories about theatrical and film premieres, fashion novelties (with patterns), etc. In 1927-1928, the circulation of the newspaper was 110 thousand copies, on some days - up to 170 thousand. In 1969, the circulation amounted to 550.3 thousand. Poets, writers, playwrights actively collaborated with the newspaper. Vladimir Mayakovsky was friends with Vecherka. Many poems were written by the poet specifically on the instructions of the editorial board. The editors also published works by foreign writers. "Evening Moscow" was one of two newspapers that published small obituaries on the death of Vladimir Vysotsky on July 25, 1980 (the second was the newspaper "Soviet Culture") This collection lacks numbers 11, 14, 16, 25, 26, 28, 34, 40, 50, 51, 56, 62, 77, 78, 81, 86, 88, 99, 107, 111-113, 129, 135, 149-174, 196, 198, 204, 224-251, 257, 260, 275, 292, 293,
