For the first time, the "Black Book of the Paris Commune" was published in Russia almost immediately after the events in question - in 1872. The book is a selection of unique documents and eyewitness accounts about the "black" side of the Paris Commune. Numerous documents are given, eyewitness accounts of the crimes committed, sharp characteristics of some figures of the Commune. Naturally, in the Soviet years, such a book could not be reprinted and has long become a bibliographic rarity.
