The Tibetan language belongs to the family of Indo-Chinese or monosyllabic languages, to the group that some linguists call Zagimalai, including the languages ​ ​ Gayarun, Tochu, Manyakmanyak, Takla, Horpa, Kanavari, the Tibetan language itself, or Bhotya, and Bhotya-lo. The monosyllabic principle of structure is not carried out in it in such purity as in Chinese and Tai languages ​ ​ (Siamese, etc.); it already shows agglutination, albeit to a rather weak degree, along with an internal alteration of verb roots having the meaning of true inflection. Tibetan comes from the Tibeto-Burmese language group, and is also possibly a distant relative of Chinese.
