The book contains evidence of foreigners who visited the Moscow state in the XV-XVII centuries. It was at this time that the ties of Russians with Western Europe began to develop, gradually becoming stronger. Merchants and diplomats visit Moscow, followed by experts in arts and crafts, travelers and just adventurers. Many of them left memories or at least cursory notes about what they saw - primarily about morals, customs, religious beliefs, which were so different from what they were used to at home.
