Luigi Capuana (1839-1915) - Italian writer, storyteller, critic and journalist, one of the founders of the verist trend in Italian literature. Twelve marvelous Italian fairy tales of this author, included in this edition, are decorated with illustrations by three masters of drawing: Konstantin Spassky, Enrico Mazzanti and Eugenio Cecconi. The translation of fairy tales into Russian, edited by Maxim Gorky (1868-1936), was made by Maria Andreeva (1868-1953).
