The fate of Imre Nagy, who was Prime Minister of Hungary during the 1956 revolution, immediately after his execution turned into one of the forbidden topics for the established regime in the country. That is why the reburial of Nagy's ashes in 1989 was an event that marked a change in the political system. The biography of Imre Nagy, written by the Hungarian historian Janos M. Rainer, is a study based on the richest archival material and exceptional emotional tension about how the "party soldier" who returned from Moscow in 1945 grew into an independent-minded politician.
