Ambrose Guinnet Beers (1842-1914?) - American writer and journalist. This collection includes his following cycles: "War Stories," "Is It Possible?," "About Ghosts and Ghosts," "Haunted Houses," "Mysterious Disappearances," "Bodies of the Dead," "Random Stories," as well as some individual stories. The texts of the works into Russian for this collection were translated by Andrey Borisovich Tanaseychuk and Roman Andreevich Tanaseychuk. The publication is decorated with design elements and illustrations made by the modern St. Petersburg artist Tatyana Kosach.
