Peculiarities of principles of relay protection for intelligent electric network are considered. The results of research by domestic research teams are presented. Separate chapters are devoted to statistical methods for recognizing modes and the basics of their applications in the practice of relay protection and automation. The final chapters illustrate applications of adaptive digital signal processing techniques and adaptive algorithms in intelligent electrical equipment switching devices and voltage rise limiting automation.
