The main purpose of the manual is to develop and improve the skills of reading and understanding the original texts in English. The first part of the manual is devoted to the formation of students' skills of recognizing lexical units and grammatical structures in the text and translating them into Russian, the second contains training tests that are designed to develop and control the skills of translational reading and understanding of the text.
