Rear Admiral Alexander Dmitrievich Bubnov dedicated a book of his memoirs to the events of the First World War. From the beginning of the warriors, he was in the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander and served there until the October events of 1917. In July 1916, Bubnov received the rank of captain of the 1st rank "for distinction in service." He became rear admiral a year later, in July 1917, already under the Provisional Government.
