Principles of ensuring the required accuracy of assembly of assembly units and mechanisms of machines in the process of their design, manufacture and repair are described. General concepts are given about quality indicators of machines, methods of their provision, methods of achieving assembly accuracy, assembly size chains and their properties. Theory of construction and calculation of dimension chains in probabilistic aspect is briefly described. Calculations of assembly accuracy indicators by interchangeability and compensation methods are considered.
