In July 1970, the popular anti-imperialist revolution won in Nicaragua, the bloody dictatorship of the Somos family fell. At the head of the revolution was the Sandinista National Liberation Front (SFNO), bearing the name of the national hero of Nicaragua, Augusto Cesar Sandino, the leader of the liberation struggle against the American invaders.
