The book "The First Battles of the Volunteer Army" is the second volume in the series, dedicated to the White movement in Russia, and acquaints the reader with the memories of participants in the events in the Don and Kuban in late 1917 - early 1918. The book for the first time with such completeness presents evidence not only of the leaders of the anti-communist struggle, but also its ordinary participants, allowing to clearly represent the situation and atmosphere of that time, the psychology and spiritual appearance of the first volunteers. With a few exceptions, the materials placed in the volume have never been published in Russia, and those published abroad are a bibliographic rarity.
