Development of client-server database projects using the MySQL database management system and the Delphi programming language based on FireDAC data access technology. A long time ago, in the mid-90s of the last century, when the very first version of Delphi was born, the new programming language was primarily talked about as an excellent tool for developing desktop and client-server database applications. More than 20 years later, Embarcadero's modern RAD Studio design environment (of which Delphi is still a key element) has not only not lost its position in this segment of the computer market, but has also significantly increased its capabilities. Judge for yourself, RAD Studio is positioned as a design environment that supports the most common and successful database management systems (DBMS). Moreover, the programming languages included in RAD Studio are cross-platform and allow you to develop software not only for Microsoft Windows, but also for OS X, Linux and for Android and iOS mobile platforms. Unfortunately, in one book it is impossible even to superficially cover the entire range of DBMSs with which the Delphi language is capable of working. Therefore, one of the most popular platforms among modern developers, MySQL, has been chosen as the target DBMS. It is this DBMS that the first part of the material is devoted to. In the second part of the book, we will focus on creating client database applications based on the new FireDAC data access technology for Delphi programmers.
