The monograph is devoted to city self-government in Dagestan in the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries. The work analyzes the activities of the Temir-Khan-Shurinsky, Derbent and Petrovsky (simplified) city public administrations in matters of economic development, urban improvement, health care and public education, and shows the procedure for elections to these governing bodies. The Appendix gives the budget of the cities, presents the names of the representatives of the city government bodies.
